The Arcade
Sara Kay builds small browser games for her portfolio. They are plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript: no framework, no server, nothing to install. They keep working offline once loaded, play from the keyboard, and respect reduced-motion settings.
The games
The four mini-games run right on this page in the site's default view; switch views with the mode key in the top bar to play them.
- Puzzle Book: six one-screen puzzles in the Japanese nazotoki style, each built on a physical trick like a hole punch, a fold-in or a red reveal sheet.
- Logic Games: analytical-reasoning puzzles in the format of the old LSAT logic games section, with original scenarios.
- Black Marker: a redaction game. Black out what an AI tool should not read in each snippet, then decide whether it gets to read the rest.
- Skill Stack: a merge game where two of the same skill combine into the next one up the chain, from SQL to data governance, with the projects each skill went into.
- Gremlin Word: guess a five-letter word in six tries. The words come from Sara's hobbies.
- Pack the Box: a reselling puzzle. Fit each order into the smallest box that holds it and see what is left after fees and postage, using sample rates rather than any platform's real prices.
- Phrasebook of the Dead (separate site, opens in a new tab): a horror game where you say travel phrases out loud in Japanese, Mandarin or Spanish to push a demon back. Needs a microphone.
